Once warm the car … WebJun 25, 2024 · Recently around 5000 miles a ticking noise is coming from the engine when it is cold. it is louder when i let off on the gas and is not heard when i give it a slight amount of gas only when cold. This noise occurs for about 1 1/2 to 2 miles and when the engine warms up it goes away completely. I have used Amsoil 20w50 since the 1000 mile checkup.

After about 1 minute it quiets down. The truck runs great and oil pressure runs about 60 psi when driving and about 45 when idling. Any help on the knocking would be appreciated. WebOct 25, 2024 · The earlier noise is the e brake. It only happens when the engine is cold (summer 80 degrees+ and winter) It happens for about 1-2 seconds after it starts up. When the engine has been running , it will not do it on the re-start. 2008 GT 5 speed 103k miles. These changes have not made any difference:
WebFeb 28, 2024 · Rod knock sounds a lot different than valve train noise. Rod knock is a slower louder noise with a noticeable rhythm. Valve train noise is light and tinny and has a very fast pace, even at idle. You probably have a bit of valve noise, try a thinner oil to help the motor at start up. I appreciate the responses.
