WebJul 17, 2024 · On SBC timing gear hole on cam is a set depth. Bigger end of bearing fits in recessed center of gear. Depth is preset to fit big end of bearing with stock cam bolts holding it down. If I shim underneath bearing wouldn't it be pushing bearing up to far for cam bolts to tighten correctly? Am I missing something?

Do remember they ask for you to have 0 endplay. In your case I would make sure of that as you dont want the rear bearing to fall out. Just two fingers tight if at all
